vibrant, passionate and charismatic, Aireen is a dancer of elevated artistry.
Poetic and deeply sensual, her grace evokes the mystical beauty of the Oriental
world, yet her elegance and dynamism captivate audiences from East and West
alike. Her life long experience in theatre and dance give her a mastery of
the stage that, coupled with the fresh effervescence of her style, make her
truly unique among the nations top performers of Oriental dance. Musical and
internal, she captures the authentic sentiments of the Middle East and brings
a powerful and modern expression to this extraordinary art form.
In constant demand by the Arabic community, Aireen has performed for the
Saudi Royal Family and shared the stage with Superstars
Nawal Sougbi, Wael Kafoury, Saber al Roubai, Rida Butros,
among others, and was invited, along with her ensemble, to open for Lebanese
idol Fadl Shaker in his tour of the U.S. An artist
of international stature, she teaches and performs throughout the U.S., Europe,
South America and the Caribbean, and her audiences have included celebrities
such as Gloria and Emilio Estefan. She has appeared
in Self Magazine and Habibi Magazine,
and is seen in One Thousand & One Nights music
video by German singer Andia, and Rock
it by Master P. She has been interviewed by Italian
radio RDA and Radio Unica of Miami and,
featured in documentaries on Arabic culture by international TV station
Telemundo. Based in Miami, she directs the Oriental
dance program at the University of Miami.
Aireen's talent also extends to her charitable work. As an unprecedented accomplishment,
she has single handedly choreographed 2 full Oriental dance concerts, with
over 40 dancers- spanning 6 decades in ages- to raise nearly $20,000 to benefit
the St. Jude Charities. Aireen's humanity, together
with her extraordinary musical sensibility, landed her the prized role as
choreographer of the interdisciplinary theater work: The HABIBI REMIX. Her
vast dance vocabulary, patina of choreographic storytelling and inter-cultural
understanding has Aireen revered as a “high art” choreographer,
par excellence.
Originally trained in Classical Ballet, Aireen has been a professional dancer
of many disciplines: First, as a member of the State Company of Modern Dance
in Valencia, Venezuela, and later, as a Jazz dancer and teacher for the Escuela
Superior de Danzas. Aireen began studies in Oriental Dance in the mid-nineties
with renowned director Tamalyn Dallal, and as an educated dancer, continuously
furthers her knowledge with the top performers and choreographers of the Middle
East such as masters Mahmoud Reda, Yousry Sharif, Raquia Hassan, Faride Fahmy
and Amani of Lebanon among many others.
