I used to be known as “Henna”

a dance name I performed under until recently. These days, I prefer my given name Heather Louise. Louise is my middle name. It’s also my aunt’s name. And her aunt’s name. It’s kind of a thing.

I love serving the world by helping folks strengthen their bond with their inner and outer beauty. I’m most passionate about embodying that divine connection that music inspires. This dance is an amazing guide to a juicy, intentional life. I live for helping others develop the tools for enjoying the ride.

Dancers who train with me are yearning for satisfaction with their own dancing. They wish they could flow with the music easily. They desire to craft beautiful dances in an authentic way. They want what they see on the outside to match what they feel on the inside.

I am lucky to guide them toward self expression while teaching them everything I know about this gorgeous, cultural art form.

As an instructor

I’ve been featured on Datura Online, the world’s premium belly dance platform. As a dancer I have been recognized by various belly dance competitions over the years and  am now a sought-after judge on these panels. But my real jam is dancing in intimate settings to live music. None of the rest could happen without that.

When I’m not busy working on new courses and dances you can catch me cuddled up with a hot drink and a good book. I’m a mom to a brilliant 13 year old kid, partner to a creative musician, and dog-mom to Gloria Bean Queen.

I’ve lived in a few different countries and have an insatiable desire to travel. I love big cities like London, Cairo, and Tokyo, but my heart will always belong to the ocean (Hawaii born).

If you're dying to know more, here are 5 things you may not know about me...

  1. Velvet is my spirit fabric.
  2. I am an Enneagram 4 wing 5. INFP all day every day.
  3. I used to own and operate a small coffee shop. I still love coffee. And coffee shops.
  4. My dad is a rock musician and my mom is an accountant.
  5. I lived in Japan for 4 years and began my professional dance career there.
